Colusa County Almond Project Update 8.12.2010

Summer activities for the Colusa Almond Project team have involved weed control and regular monitoring at all of our sites. The plantings have been thriving under excellent landowner care and unusually mild summer weather. Plans for the fall include replanting where plants did not survive and seeding grasses along a creek at one of our sites. We will also be conducting an almond harvest "crack-out," in which samples of nuts will be taken from the ground after harvest to be monitored for pest activity. We will resume water monitoring in the creeks once the rains come - and we are hoping for a great rainy season!

Almond harvest is just getting underway and will continue through September - an exciting time of year for Colusa Almond growers!
